Geometric Abstraction Artist's Statement
My geometric design sense has been motivated by symmetry. I like using motifs that are translated, reflected and rotated across the surface plane. A number of these images are inspired by my scientific research on symmetry and complexity. Bold colors and geometric shapes are some of the elements common throughout this work. In several of my pieces this order is broken by a dynamic energy of swoops and lines.
